Hello everyone!
Welcome back to our blog or welcome. Today we decided to show you a new photo tutorial to make a DIY dream catcher, with few materials and with a very low cost.
The dream catcher is one of the most famous symbols of the boho style.
It has its roots in Native American history, particularly the People of North America of the Cheyenne and Lakota.
For them the catcher was considered sacred and every part of it was rich in meanings:
the circle represented the cerhio of life, from life to death, the interweaving of threads represented a web that let dreams filter, sliding them on feathers and trapping the nightmares that died when the first rays of the sunilluminated the dreamcating.
For other tribes such as Ojibwa, or Chippewa, the network held back dreams and let the nightmares return to heaven as they returned flying , as they had arrived.
They were an important symbol especially for the children to whom it was given from the moment of their birth and they then enriched it with many other objects in the course of their lives.
The original wooden catchers mostly had the tender and flexible wooden rim, covered with animal skin, as well as the lace that creates the weave and still eagle and pearl feathers.
Today, let’s try to create one with rather “heretical” materials compared to the original ones so full of meaning, but that can certainly be a beautiful decorative object and who knows, maybe if given, a small lucky charm …
