We do not often accept collaborations to advertise products, we do not want our blog to become a showcase or a supermarket. When we decide to collaborate with companies that kindly ask us to test their products we do so only when we feel that there is a common thread between us, our style, the themes of our blog and the company in question. Laidback London hit us, but not right away. When we received their email we immediately saw their ecommerce and their shoes were really nice but then we typed their name on Google and made a very interesting find. Laidback London, present on many online shopping stores (amazon, zalando yoox), has English origins but since its inception has embraced a project that we can call fair-trade; the company supports the life and work of artisan villages in Kenya.
Laidback London wasfounded as early as 2002 when the first pair of shoes was sold on a simple stall in Portobello Road.
The founder returned to London after a fantastic experience in the city of Mombasa and wanted to bring back to a chaotic city such as London,a relaxed lifestyle, the one he had known in the coastal city from which he returned.
Their motets are:
Walk, don’t run.
Restore. Make a difference.
Handmade. The beautiful shoes of Laidback London that were sent to me, such as the wonderful sandals in the shop, are made by local artisans and the decorations also recall the symbols of their wonderful culture.
The boots in perfect bohemian style, recall the culture and traditions of Kenya but do not betray the typical English elegance. High up to the ankle and with round tip, the exterior is suede, the interior in soft and warm ecological fur while the sole is made of rubber, therefore non-slip. My model is nyali-mocha-suede-silver.
These ankle boots are already my new travel companions and at the end of the month (we can’t reveal anything to you yet) they will leave with us for a fairytale place in our beautiful Italy. They happened at the right time because comfortable, very warm and soft will help me a lot on this trip.
On the official website you will find all the information, products and history of Laidback London.
