In Castellabate,if you want to spend a romantic evening with a wonderful view of the panorama of the city enjoying a good glass of wine and excellent fish dishes then we have discovered the place for you. In this review we tell you about one of the most renowned restaurants (reason view) of the city La Cantina Belvedere.
The restaurant was recommended to us by Lello, owner of the Tamar Residences, where we stay. The restaurant is very nice, overlooking the sea. There are also tables outside, illuminated by delicate lights… too bad it still does too fresh to be able to enjoy dinner out here. The interior room is still beautiful, with soft lights and intimate coffee tables.
The highlight of the Belvedere Winery are obviously the wines, there is a huge choice both for taste, for geographical location and price. In the end we choose a classic, a Aglianico Cilentano PgI. The menu presents various dishes, not many, but all very particular so much that we feel difficult to choose: it teases us the combination of ingredients as well as the same raw materials proposed as hedgehog eggs.
Before dinner, the chef offers us a small puff stuffed with salmon mousse and covered with a light spinach powder and a basket of various flavored sandwiches.
We divide our fish appetizer that includes small tastings of really delicious fish: Marinated salmon with gin and tonic with lime mash, roasted octopus with rice and crab cube, tempura prawn on sea ice, bluefin tuna with two sesame with roll of venus rice and red onion, red shrimp tartare with ginger. Special tastes, expertly combined.
For Primo Francesco chooses a sea risotto delicately I a strong dish: linguine del pastificio dei Campi, with pistachio pesto, cherry tomatoes, Cilento anchovies, goat cheese… a fair, excellent taste, I would say unforgettable.
As a second we share a very clean fry of prawns and squid.. Great!
We also give ourselves a dessert both: for Francesco a trio of chocolate (dark, white and milk) while for me a cheese cake with buffalo yogurt and berries, both set on a base of granles and dried fruits. We are ecstatic, a delight for the eyes and the palate.
The staff are friendly and prepared, accurately explain each dish served to us, the girls are also very nice and smiling. The environment is easy-chic: low lights, soft music, tables set in a basic but elegant way.
The cost of our dinner was about 90 euros, a pretty fair amount considering the quality of the ingredients of these dishes, whose portions are more abundant than the classic gourmet cuisine and the good quality of the wine.
