Forse con questo titolo vi abbiamo preso po’ in giro… non siamo in grado di fare una classifica delle spiagge più belle di Minorca, ogni caletta è una piccola perla incastonata nella costa. But we want to try to tell you something (for and against) about the most beautiful beaches in Menorca, the beaches you should visit or those that you may not have been able to see…

Cala en Turqueta, Dosing
Cala en Turqueta is perhaps one of menorca’smost famous beaches : the name says a lot, the crystal clear sea leaves anyone speechless and nothing to envy to the Caribbean one. However it is one of the most complicated beaches to access. The parking lot is quite small and for this reason almost always full, from early morning to sunset, even on the cloudier days: reached the maximum number of cars that can access it, the road is literally closed so you can only wait a while in the hope that someone will leave, or you can reach it by boat.

Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta
These two coves are also famous in Menorca: Cala Macarella is the largest one, nestled among white rocks like its younger sister, Cala Macarelleta. The blue sea shelters in these coves and is characterized by a very clear seabed and inhabited by herds of fish of all shapes and sizes… two real natural pools! The two beaches, however, can be reached by bus (about 8 euros) and with about 15/20 minutes of walking.

Cala Galdana
Cala Galdana is instead one of the largest beaches Menorca, always characterized by floury sand and very clear waters. Cala Galdana is also one of menorca’s most equipped beaches, also ideal for families and you can access it on foot after leaving the car in a free parking lot.

Platja Binimel-there
Binimel-là to the north of the island, is completely different from the beaches seen so far. You arrive at this beach crossing a short path of red earth and to characterize it is the golden sand and an intense blue sea, typical of the Mediterranean. This was our favorite beach for snorkeling, so if you are also passionate about mask and mug you will have a lot of fun. The beach is divided into a two, between a part characterized by pebbles and an almost more marshy one. It is not an equipped beach and is very popular with nudists. Not far from here is another wonderful beach, Cala Pregonda.

Son Saura
it is the menorca natural paradise, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. After parking the car in one of the two free parking lots (the one further away takes about 15 minutes to walk) you cross a natural park, in the shade of a fragrant pine forest and then reach a beach with fine sand, almost borotalco and a transparent and calm sea. The beach is very crowded and is not equipped at all but it will be easy to find a place to lay out the towel and have fun snorkeling and relaxing in the sun. In one of the parking lots there is a nice bar / restaurant where you can enjoy excellent sandwiches and refuel.

Cal’n Bosch
A small cove, ideal especially for families, near an area where resorts, hotels and villas are concentrated. The waters of the sea, never too deep, rise slowly thanks to the slight slope of this beach while the sand is clear and fine. There are various dining options around, Burger King and a small marina. The beach is really small and therefore very crowded (also in October).
As you may have understood, most of Menorca’s beaches always require a nice walk in the middle of nature and there won’t always be a pine forest to cool off so don’t forget cream and hat and other advice is to always bring a fridge bag with food and water. Don’t be discouraged though, even if you think you have enough breath or if you are with the children because for all these beaches it will really be worth it.
