If you are on this article it is because you have read of a special place in Ibiza but perhaps you have not found everything you were looking for… that’s all you need to know about Atlantis in Ibiza.
Where Atlantis is and how to get there
The directions you have to follow are exactly the ones to get to El mirador of Es vedrà. Just type on the navigator Sa Pedrera.
Do not be frightened by the rough road you will cross (in your car) and know that finding parking will not be easy.
To welcome you “at the entrance ” of the path there is a very homemade sign indicating on the right the road to Es vedrà and on the left the one to Atlantis.
Follow the path to the right without delay, you will arrive on a cliff overlooking the sea.
Follow the cliff going to your right, you will see a large tree and perhaps a trunk lying on the ground. The path down the cliff is the one to follow.
How to face the path to Atlantis
- take with you some water, at least a couple of bottles
- bring a light backpack
- Wear comfortable shoes even better if hiking shoes
- tie your hair because you will sweat
- put on sunscreen
- Keep your hands free
- you wear very fresh clothes but nothing you care very much because it will get dirty
- if you can, face the path early in the morning avoiding the hottest hours
- the route is not absolutely recommended for children
The path
The path to Atlantis takes about 40 minutes to get down and 40 minutes to climb.
The first section is simpler, keep to the right and stay on the sandy path, always keeping to the rock wall. Walk slowly down the path and if necessary stop now and then.
What you will see in Atlantis
The Atlantis of Ibiza will amaze you by the natural pools and the particular sanding of the stone due to the sea and wind corrosion. The impression will be to find you in front of large, asymmetric and precarious balance sand sculptures.
Quickly, taking the photos you will notice the thousand faces hidden among the rocks and the engravings on the stone.
You will be facing a sort of city emerging from the waters that hides indecipherable secrets and magical vibrations.
Enjoy the privilege of being the inhabitants of this kingdom for a few hours by bathing in its (swimming) pools.
But the magic of the Atlantis of Ibiza is also another: you will meet along the way people of all ages and nationalities with whom you will exchange smiles and bottles of water, someone will tell you “you can do it“, someone instead, in the ascent, will stretch his hand to help you.
For a few hours you will seem to be part of a tribe in which inexplicably you all speak the same language and you experience, at the same time, the same effort and the same amazement.
