In our last stay in Rome,we were guests of the Best Western Group’s Astrid hotel in the quiet, residential Flaminio neighborhood. Although I lived in Rome and together with Francesco we were countless voltE in the Capital, we did not know the area well and we start so we start with the very nice, arranged and elegant and from here it will be easy to move both by car and tram that you will find 150m from the hotel.
TheAstrid hotel is located within an old palace with marble floors, a grand staircase, and a vintage elevator. Our room, the 305, is on the third floor and is a very small but clean and welcoming room. A few square meters to move but perfectly organized space. The large windows overlook the courtyard of the building. In the room we have a kettle, coffee, tea and chamomile, fridge complete with drinks and safe.
Although the room is small, the bathroom is quite spacious with hair dryer, courtesy kit and a fairly large walk-in shower.
The breakfast room is on the fifth floor and includes a beautiful rooftop terrace from which you can admire the Tiber and also the beautiful dome of St. Peter’s. Breakfast, plentiful and good: honey and wholemeal croissants, pancakes, waffles and muffins, bread of various kinds, different toppings for toast, sweet and savory snacks, spreads, sauces and of course hot and cold drinks.
As for the staff we found it delightful: from the reception staff to the ladies in charge of the floors and breakfasts, they were all impeccable and always very helpful, we were never denied information or a simple smile.
TheAstrid hotel is located in an area where you can park on the blue stripes or in a contracted car park costing about 20 euros per day.
Next to the hotel is a comfortable Carrefour supermarket open 24 hours a week while just a few metres away you’ll find tobacco, pizza take-away and of course the bus and tram stop.
You will surely have understood from our enthusiastic review that we recommend a lot of theAstrid hotel especially to young couples like us who will be all day around the city and need a comfortable area from which to move and a hearty breakfast with which to start the day.
You can book your stay as usual on Booking.com or on their website.
However, we also recommend the official website Best western on which you will find many offers for your stay, advantageous discounts to buy museum tickets to various attractions and you can apply to sign up for the Best Western Rewards program with which you can always receive percentages discount your stay and you’ll accumulate points that you can turn into vouchers or free nights at any Best Western in the world.
