During our Coast to coast of Calabria,we were lucky enough to also discover some not particularly known, hidden and incredibly wonderful places. Among villages, natural beauties and hidden restaurants, we have also found breathtaking beaches with Caribbean colors.
To be honest we must also thank all the Calabrians who wrote to us providing us with invaluable information and advice on what to visit, places that only the locals can know.
Michelino beach
Not far from the Tropea beaches, near Pargelia, the Michelino beach is characterized by white sand and a green sea that almost reminds us of the Dominican Republic.
Hidden by the vegetation and the white cliffs, Michelino beach is absolutely not an equipped beach so if you have children better organize yourself well.
In addition, to reach it you have to go down a long and steep descent of stairs that ends with a crossroads. At this crossroads, it’s your turn: you can choose whether to settle on the beach on the right or the one on the left. We have chosen the scenic right side, also perfect for snorkeling.
What we recommend for this beach is: don’t forget mask and fins!
Paradise beach of the sub
Located in Zambrone, the official name of this beach is Marinella but everyone knows it as Paradise del Sub. To reach this beach, the road is even steeper and certainly more bumpy than the previous beach. Also you have to cross the cliff with caution and attention and you will finally be on this white beach.
So our advice for the Paradiso del Sub beach is: light backpack, water and gym shoes … then enjoy the day in this corner of paradise on earth.
Swimming pools, Ferruzzano
They call them pools and do you know why? For the cliff that has created splendid pools of crystal clear water. We are on theIonian Sea, the seabed here is quite different from that of the opposite side but the water is always transparent and clear.
Little tip for this side: bring some stone shoes with you.
