Here is our Guide to Marseille Travel where, as throughout our Guides section, you will find plenty of useful tips to better plan your trip
Marseille where to stay
We chose theHoliday Inn Express Saint Charles hotel and the very area of Saint Charles station is one of the best connected and perhaps even cheaper.
Of course the neighborhood is not exactly tourist, indeed it is quite popular and you also know that where there is a station, there are often dodgy people but we can tell you that there is around a lot of police and a lot of private surveillance.
What to Eat
We will not talk about Gourmet cuisine or haute cuisine French, in this Guide of Travel to Marseille we thought to give you some little information to eat typical but without spending a capital
Surely, although obvious, we recommend eating Crepes and Gallettes: apparently they are similar but beware, the gallettes are prepared partly with Buckwheat wheat.
On the harbour you can taste the Moules Frites, that is, a kind of mussel soup accompanied by fries.
The Bouillabaisse is the classic and traditional Marseille fish soup with the classic slightly spicy sauce.
Also to taste the Navettes, typical sweets of Marseille and to taste is the Pastis, typical liqueur of the city. Also taste the Cider and Marseille Beer, La Cagole.
How to get around in Marseille
Marseille is a beautifully connected city.
The cost of thebus ticket is about two euros.
For the metro you can also buy the ticket for 4 people which costs 4.90.
Another easy way to get around, especially if you’re 4, is Uber and we recommend it especially in the evening to to return to the area.
