How many days does it take to see and enjoy Santorini? Actually not many, we can guarantee you. Santorini was one of the stages of our TOUR OF CICLADIand it took us three and a half days to experience it in a fantastic way. We are sure that you too will be enough and your trip to Santorini could become a romantic getaway for the weekend. So here are the day by day itineraries to spend three days in Santorini in an unforgettable way.
Three days in Santorini: what can I do?
Don’t worry, in three days in Santorini you will be able to do almost everything:passess, sea, dinners, aperitifs and everything you have always dreamed of doing on this island.
Of course the first fundamental thing will be to rent a scooter that will allow you to get married more easily from one point to another of the island and to be able to visit more points in a day.
Here are our three days in Santorini with related “programs”.
Day 1 in Santorini
After breakfast, rent your scooter and set out to discover the island. First stop, Imerovigliwhere you will shoot beautiful photos of the blue Aegean, the caldera and the handfuls of white houses and hotels overlooking the cliff.
If you love walking and trekking, explore the fortress of skaros: arriving at the top you will have spectacular views of the island from the sea.
Greek salad for lunch and then afternoon at the beach we suggest you start with the Black beach of Perissa or Kamari, areas where you should also stay.
In Santorini, the aperitif at sunset is inevitable so for this day buy a pita and an icy Mythos and enjoy the spectacle of the sun from the lighthouse of Akrotiri.
For dinner we recommend moving to Fira where you will find very nice and cheap places and after you can take a walk or enjoy a drink in its streets.
Day 2 in Santorini
Today, however, with your scooter go to Red Beach early so you will avoid a bit of crowds, also because the red beach is really small.
At Red beach you’ll also find the boat to move to the White beach where you can spend another couple of hours between sun and swimming in the crystal clear waters of Santorini.
Then go back to your scooter and for lunch go to Oia.
Eat a pita and then set out to discover this little pearl of Santorini.
Spend the whole afternoon there and then wait for the sunset, the famous sunset of Santorini. If you want you can end the evening right in one of the restaurants in the area from which you will enjoy a wonderful view of the illuminated island.
Day 3 in Santorini
The three days in Santorini are coming to an end. The colorful beaches of the island you have seen so now you can visit Fira by day.
You can get to the top of the city in two ways: with the famous donkeys (we do not agree very much and on top of that it is very uncomfortable) or with the cable car.
Fira is very beautiful and is also a place for souvenir shopping.
For lunch, head to Ammoudi Bay, a beautiful fishing village where you’ll find restaurants with tables directly on the quay from which you can enjoy great fresh fish.
To take another bath in Santorini, head to Vlichadabeach, which has a white cliff, shaped by weather and weather, to make it look like a sculpture.
You can’t miss the last aperitif at sunset and at this point you can head to Santowine for an aperitif made from local wine in a very chic location.
Ideas for dinner? Here you are. In Vlichada you may have noticed the characteristic taverns that are located just before the beach; well there the food is great, the atmosphere is authentic as well as the friendliness and price it’s really contained. Treat yourself to a nice dinner there, old-fashioned Greece style that closes perfectly these three days in Santorini.
