When someone tells us “hello, in a few days I will come to Naples …” we already know that after the recommended itineraries, the next question will be about food, or rather pizza! Speaking of pizza, we are often asked where to eat the famous fried pizza in Naples
We have therefore decided to “reveal” three places to eat a nice fried pizza in Naples Center.
WATCH NOW OUR REEL
LA MASARDONA
it is our favorite, we had also mentioned it in the article dedicated to Neapolitan Street Food.
A few minutes walk from the Central Station of Naples, “La Masardona”, since 1945 offers only and exclusively pizza dough dipped in boiling oil.
We like Masardona because we have always eaten a dry fried pizza, not greasy and with a light and highly digestible dough.
The round fried pizza costs 5 euros while the Battilocchio, that is the one in the shape of half moon, costs 3.50€
You can sit in one of the two rooms or eat it standing up, being careful not to burn yourself (and get dirty)
We also recommend eating the strips (which you may know by the name of Angioletti or Diavoletti) with Nutella or Pistachio.
ISABELLA DE CHAM
We like Isabella because she’s young, she’s good, she’s brave. After so much apprenticeship, today she is at the head of an all-female pizzeria, which every day and every hour, gives life to soft golden loaves that hide … moments of happiness!
You say we are exaggerating? Then try Isabella de Cham‘s fried pizza, at the Pignasecca takeway or, at the historic headquarters located in the Sanità district (one of the most beautiful districts of Naples).
A complete round frit costs 5 euros and a battilocchio one costs 3.00. In any case, Isabella has a vast, indeed very wide choice of tastes and fried foods that perhaps … you will not limit yourself only to pizza.
ZIA ESTERINA SORBILLO
The easiest thick pizza to try, thanks to the 3 points of sale in strategic points of the city of Naples, Zia Esterina is a real brand signed by Gino Sorbillo.
Generous filling and slightly larger than average size, wrapped in classic blue and white oil proof paper. To be enjoyed only while walking and not to be shared with anyone due to a severe attack of acute greed (LOL)
Cost of Mister Sorbillo’s Fried Pizza, € 3.50.
