We have visited this beautiful island several times and we want to allow ourselves to give you some little advice that will help you save time and budget.

So here are 5 things not to do in Santorini:
Rent a quod:
We speak to you very clearly, quad biking on this island is not essential!
There are few places that are really difficult to reach by scooter, such as the red beach, but otherwise the roads are paved and even the most hidden places are never reached through particularly dirt roads.
Save a little and take the scooter.
Do not haggle with the taxi driver:
Taxi prices in Santorini are really insane!
Ask the taxi driver first the cost to get to your destination and then try to bargain.
Alternatively, use the taxi booking service on booking which will certainly be a bit cheaper.
Book an expensive resort:
Se è la prima volta che andate a Santorini, lasciate perdere i super luxury resort in cui trascorrerete pochissimo tempo.
Choose an apartment, a lower category hotel or one of the studios between Perissa and Kamari.
We who have already been to the island, have allowed ourselves this little luxury at the Dome Resort, but if it had been the first time for us too, we would never have done it!
Use cash:
Don’t run out of cash at all and always try to pay by card or debit card. Cash withdrawals at ATMs in Santorini and the rest of the Cyclades are € 3.95.
Stay a week in Santorini
Let’s be honest, a week in Santorini is expensive and too much. Three days are enough, then take the ferry and move to other nearby islands such as Ios or Paros or perhaps Antiparosand Naxos.
In this post we explain what to do in Santorini in just 3 days!
