You already know that we have advised against you advised to stay in a luxury resort for your first time in Santorini; maybe you could allow yourself a couple of nights here to fully enjoy the comforts of the room (and the private hot tub … of course)but, if you want to visit the island all day, you can fall back on a cheaper option.
As you already know, we had already been to Santorini and used the island only as a base to then move to Ios and Milos.
This is why we wanted to allow ourselves this little luxury at the Dome Santorini Resort.

Dome Santorini Resort: the room
This property is located in the Imerovigli area, a few meters from another well-known luxury property, Cavo Tagoo Santorini.
We chose this structure among the many luxury structures that are located in Imerovigli for various reasons, certainly the beauty of the room and the private outdoor Jacuzzi but also because the location of this structure seemed more private.
In fact, looking closely at the photos on Booking, we had noticed that many facilities in Imerovigli but also in Oia, although more beautiful and also with a swimming pool, were much more in sight; in short we would have found people constantly watching us.
The room of the Dome Santorini Resort, on the other hand, is much more discreet and protected from the external gaze of passers-by and onlookers, ideal for feeling at ease and relaxing.
In addition to the beautiful outdoor whirlpool tub, our room was equipped with an additional whirlpool tub with shower head inside.
Simple environment, clean design, our room developed on two levels: upstairs, in a sort of small attic, the bed and bedside tables.
Downstairs a large open space, with sofas and a large built-in wardrobe.
Inside the wardrobe, there is also a sort of small “kitchen” with kettle, sink, coffee machine.
The view of the Aegean sea is splendid, it can already be seen from the windows and from the small balcony where there is also a table with two chairs and a drying rack.
And now let’s move on to what interests you most .. the outdoor hot tub!
The tub is perfect for two people and the temperature is adjustable from the inside.
From the tub you can enjoy the whirlpool with a splendid view of the sea.
In addition you also have a large sun bed for sunbathing.
The services and the staff
The hotel staff is very young, friendly and helpful.
What we loved about the staff is that, despite being a luxury hotel, there is a polite but informal relationship with customers.
The kindness and never intrusive friendliness of the guys who work within the resort makes you feel very at ease.
We rented the scooter directly from receptionwhich has some trusted rental dealerships and discounts are available for guests.
The transfer was not included in the priceof the stay but, from the resort to the airport we paid € 25.
Even the nice and really kind taxi driver, we remember him with affection.
Breakfast was included in the price and served in the room.
You will be asked to fill in a sheet and express your breakfast preferences.
Only for extra portions of some foods there are costs.
For example: if you are two people and you take two omelettes, it’s all free but if you ask for three, the third is paid.
Fantastic breakfast, plentiful, very fresh fruit, delicious omelettes.
We also tried the restaurant service for lunch (NO STOP FROM 11:00 TO 23:00) which has affordable prices (other than the prohibitive ones of Ushuaia in Ibiza).
We ordered a club sandwich and a salad with tuna, tomatoes, mayonnaise and parmesan.
Both at a cost of 12 euros.
A perfect lunch to enjoy in the whirlpool while looking at the sea.
Attention … soon we will talk about what we did not like
Now if we have to find any flaws then here they are:
- the hotel does not have a view of the caldera: this means that you can see the sunrise but not the sunset;
- the pool in the evening is not illuminated: it seems that the lights of the pools disturbed the sleep of the guests of the guests of the other rooms so the Dome Santorini Resort has decided to uninstall;
This disappointed us a bit, however, since the terrace was well lit, we also enjoyed the night water massage with a nice bottle of wine.
We consider this hotel perfect for even slightly more reserved couples who want to enjoy total relax.
