A special weekend in Barcelona deserves a special hotel … maybe a hotel with a view of theSagrada Familia.
Well, we have found and tested it and we are ready to show you, as always, the room, the view, the services, what we liked and what could be improved.
The most beautiful and well-known hotel overlooking the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is the Ayre Hotel Rosellón, located in the homonymous Carrer Rosellòn.
Ayre Hotel Rosellónas well as a splendid view of the Sagrada Familia (which is less than two minutes walk there), it also has a strategic position: in fact, a few meters away there is metro L2 which in 4 stops takes you to the Rambla and Piazza Catalogna, Universitat stop and all around the hotel there are restaurants, fast food and bakeries.
Ayre Hotel Rosellón also has a private covered parking area for hotel guests.
The stained glass windows characterize the rather simple and sober exterior of the hotel which almost goes unnoticed on the contrary instead of the interior which is very modern.
The large reception next to the elevators has a protective glass which guarantees a good distance between guests and staff.
Obviously, the use of masks is mandatory in the elevators and in the common areas of the hotel.
On the first floor there is the breakfast room, while on the 4th floor there are the various rooms.
Our room was a superior with a view of the Sagrada Familia.
A large and clean room, perfectly illuminated by both natural and artificial light.
Wardrobe with several doors and shelves, mini bar and very large bathroom with bathtub, professional hair dryer and magnifying mirror.
The really spacious and comfortable bed impressed us with the very long pillows with the cover that almost look like a “sack”.
What for us is always a plus point is obviously the full-length mirror.
Warning: the large bedroom window is locked for safety reasons. You can only open the small flap door.
There are two curtains, one of which is thinner and more transparent, the other blackout … keep in mind that in front of the room, in addition to the Sagrada Familia, there are also buildings and apartments.
Speaking of the Sagrada Familia, the view of the room is on the highest tower, which is what will be the back of the church.

But the real wonder of Ayre Hotel Rosellón is the terrace on the eighth floor.
Here you will find a really nice bar to enjoy cocktails and tapas overlooking the mammoth work of Gaudì, sofas and tables.

Smoking is prohibited on the terrace.
The costs of the bar are really affordable:
a liter of Sangria to share with someone costs around € 20
a large portion of Patatas Bravas costs 6 euros.
You can enjoy the terrace of the Ayre hotel Rosellon from 13:00 to 22:00.
But do you want to know something crazy? You can have an aperitif on the terrace even if you are not a hotel guest. You just need to book a little in advance by specifying the day, time and number of people, hoping that on the chosen day there won’t be any private event.
If, on the other hand, you are a hotel guest, you don’t have to book and you can go up as you please.
Unfortunately, breakfast is not included in the price and you can have it for 12 €. In the room, inside the minibar, you will find 2 small bottles of water.
Maybe we would have expected a kettle with some herbal tea in the room and maybe some more bathroom products but all in all we didn’t lack for anything.
The staff at the reception is really nice but above all YOUNG; this means that they will be able to give you lots of advice on the area and beyond.
