If you are leaving for New York (lucky you) and are already planning your itinerary and visits, do not underestimate the importance of organizing lunches, dinners, snacks and MUST TO EAT in the city!
It’s true that you will always find something to eat in New York and you will find something for every palate and every pocket, but we want to give you our contribution by suggesting some places we have tested and approved
Some of these places we have “discovered” by pure chance, others we had put in our wishlist while some were suggested by some New York customers who told us about places not very touristy and particularly loved bylocals.
What to eat in New York ABSOLUTELY
Donuts: top of the list, because from movies to cartoons we see them all the time! We go to an industry giant located in Times Square, Krispy Kreme The cost of a single donut ranges from $2 to $4.
While you wait your turn to choose, pay for, and pick up your donut, watch from the glass the entire production process
We show it in this Tiktok Video
Hot dog: If you want to do things just like the Americans, then it is impossible not to suggest that you buy them from a street vendor with a special cart. We picked it up in Central Park (eh yes, a classic) and paid $3 for it.
Mac&Cheese e BBQ: that is to say you cannot leave America without having tasted the meat especially the one cooked on the grill and then, the Mac&Cheese, which technically is pasta but is served almost like a side dish.
We tasted both from Virgil’s BBQ always in Times Square and we took a mixed grill for 2 (ribs, currants, chicken) at a cost of $ 59 and this formula also included 2 side dishes (we chose Mac&Cheese and Chips)
Pepperoni Pizza: We are Neapolitans, so trust us, American pizza is good and we fell in love with Pepperoni Pizza. The king of Pepperoni Pizza is Joe’s Pizza (Did you remeber Spiderman?)
We have been to the Times Square location over and over again, which, among other things, is open late.
Cost of a Slice, 4 $.

Eating in New York where the newyorkers eat
Hamburger and other meats: also the hamburger is one of the things absolutely to eat in New York, that then come on … we are in the home of hamburgers! New Yorkers have recommended Minetta Tavern that makes really delicious hamburger sandwiches at an honest price, about $29.
If you also want to try some other cuts of American meat, Keens is a chic little place where you can eat divinely, but not very cheap: 2 fillets and a portion of baked potatoes, accompanied by just water, $190.
Cupacke: Magnolia Bakery is actually a very well-known place in the West Village, you’ll remember it if you’re a fan of Sex&TheCity. Locals also love this bakery’s desserts, which we can confirm are great. One cupcake costs more or less 3.50 dollars, one slice of cake about 8 dollars
Eating Italian in New York
Italians, we know you’re looking for a little bit of home from time to time on every trip, and you can do that in New York too!
Here are the places we recommend::
Sandwich: eating a real italian sandwich with mozzarella, ham from Parma and why not…dried chillies in oil, is it impossible? Of course not ! We are at Pisillo, in the financial district and we enjoy this goodness with 14 dollars, chatting with the Italian Staff.
By the way, Pisillo’s Italian Style sandwiches are also a favorite of J.P. Morgan employees!
Pasta: a nice hearty plate of pasta and even a fried calamari in NYC is not a mirage. If you go to Little Italy, stop at Caffè Napoli for dinner and have a chat with Mrs. Anna and her daughter Gina.
We talked about her in this tikTok video
